Sept. 20 2008
The Crushers were on the road again last night meeting up with the Collingwood Blues.The Blues looked to be getting revenge for the last meeting as they were up 2-0 at the end of the 1st period as the Crushers found themselves in penalty trouble.The Crushers never gave up scoring 5 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to win this game by the score of 6-3.The Crushers look to even a score tonight against the North York Rangers at the Alder St. arena in Orangeville.Game time is 7:30pm.
Sept. 15 2008
The Crushers wrapped up the the 3 game road trip this past weekend with 2 wins & 1 loss which was the first of the season.On Wednesday Sept. 10th the Crushers lost 6-5 against the North York Rangers but prevailed with 2 victories on Friday Sept 12 & 14th.The Crushers defeated UCHC by the score of 5-0 and finished the last road game of the week by a score or 3-2 over the Huntsville Otters in overtime.
Sept. 7 2008
The Crushers opened up the 2008-09 season with back to back wins.On Friday the Crushers defeated the Seguin Bruins 4-3 by way of a shootout,the next night they defeated the Collingwood Blues 9-1.The next Crushers game will be the first on the road where they will meet the North York Rangers.

The Crushers faced the Bramalea Blues on the evening of Sept. 2nd at the Alder St. Arena, the Crushers went on to win by the score of 7-4 , then to finish off the last preseason game the Crushers traveled to Whitby where they won by the score of 10-6.The Crushers record for preseason games is 10 wins 0 losses. The Crushers will open the 2008-09 season at home this evening. Game time 7:30pm.

The Crushers traveled to Georgetown to face the Raiders on August 28th .The game ended up going to a shootout where the Crushers prevailed the winners 4-3, this was the 1st of a back to back preseason games. The following evening August 29th at the Alder St. Arena the Crushers defeated the Georgetown Raiders by a score of 5-2.The Crushers preseason record sits at 6 & 0.The Crushers will face Bramalea Blues at the Alder St. Arena on Sept. 2nd at 7:30pm.This will be the last home preseason game before the season opener on Sept 5th 2008 where the Crushers will face the Seguin Bruins game time 7:30pm.

The Orangeville Crushers are pleased to sign 16 yr old Orangeville native Steven Beyers who was recently selected in the OHL Priority Selection in the 3rd round by the Sudbury Wolves.

The Crushers were on the road again last night meeting up with the Bramalea Blues at the Powerade Centre in Brampton.They went on to win their 3rd game of the preseason by the score of 6-2.The Crushers are at home tonight to face the the Brampton Capitols at the Alder St. Arena.Game time is 7:30pm.

The Crushers played their first 2 Pre-season games for this year in the last 2 nights.They opened up the first game against the Whitby Fury on Thursday , August 21st at the Alder St. Arena.The Crushers walked away with a win defeating the Fury 4-2 & outshooting the opponent by 58-24.The next night the Crushers travelled to Brampton also ending up with another win against the Capitols 6-2.The Crushers face the Bramalea Blues on Monday August 25, 2008 at the Powerade Centre, game time is 7:30pm.

There are several very important aspects to operating a successful Junior 'A" hockey franchise. We feel that one of the vital components is to provide a comfortable living environment for each one of our billet players. As an organization we strive to find homes that will expose our players to a positive family environment.The experience of being a billet family can be a very positive experience that we would like for you to consider for the 2008-2009 season.To help with the expenses of housing one of our players the Crushers organization will provide a $400.00 allowance per player per month ,as well as 25 game day tickets per player.If after considering the possibility of welcoming a player into your home and you have more questions please do not hesitate to contact Mike Johnson

The Stanley Cup makes its way to the Alder St Arena
The citizens of Orangeville had their chance today to view the most prestigious monument of the NHL.The Lord’s Stanley Cup was on display at the Crushers home rink at the Alder St. Arena. There to make the display was Kyle Quincy from the Detroit Red Wings. Kyle a Caledon resident , started his minor hockey career with the Orangeville Flyers Hockey Organization before moving on to the Halton Hurricanes AAA and then to the OHL where he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings. There to celebrate this special event were 4 Orangeville Crusher players, Nicholas Vassos & Matt Chiarantano also from Caledon,Ontario, Matt Crilly a Brampton native & Robert Visca from Everett, Ontario.

The Orangeville Crushers attended the 2008 OHA Referee's Rookie Tournament this past weekend. The Crushers defeated theStreetsville Derbies in the first game 4-3 via a shootout ,the Crushers went on to defeat the tournament host team the Guelph Dominators by a score of 6-1.The Crushers advanced to the Championship Game where they met the Couchiching Terriers and won by a score of 4-2, winning the tournament.This is the 2nd time in three years the Crushers have won this event.

The Orangeville Crushers will be holding the 2007 Rookie Camp at the Powerade Centre in Brampton, on May 11 & 12, 2007. Camp will be limited to 80 participants. The cost is $150. Each player will receive a jersey and will play 3 games. A team of 25 rookies will be selected to participate at the Referee's Tournament in June 2007 at Guelph University.

The Orangeville Crushers are pleased to announce that President Dale Hawerchuk will be taking on the position of Head Coach and Director of Player Personal for the upcoming 2007/08 season. Hawerchuk having played 17 years in the NHL in 1188 games had 518 goals 891 assists for a total of 1409 points. Dale was selected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001. Dale will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this young Crushers Team.

Crushers rookie Nicholas Vassos has been selected as the OPJHL North Division Rookie of the Year. Vassos who is the youngest rookie in the league will share this award with co-winner 17 year old Corey Trivino of the Stouffville Spirit.
